Associate Dentists of the PDC

 

Dr Steven Oppes BDS(Adel) GCD.  FADI.  FICD.
Graduating as Dux in 1980 from the University of Adelaide, Steve practiced in Adelaide and the UK before joining Parkside Dental Clinic in1987. In 1995, Steve completed a Graduate Certificate in Dentistry at the University of Adelaide. He was admitted as a fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International in 2003 and a fellow of the International College of Dentists in 2011. He is a keen participator in continuing professional development and in 2005 undertook a 6 month placement at the renowned Louisiana State University Dental School in New Orleans as a research assistant.

Steve is currently a member of the Notification and Registration Committee of the Dental Board of Australia (SA) and has been a member and office bearer in a number of dental societies. For some years he was the chairman of Postgraduate Committee in Dentistry at the Adelaide University, a leading provider of dental professional development in South Australia.

In his practice Steve has special interests in cosmetic dentistry, full mouth rehabilitation, tooth wear and CEREC porcelain restorations. He enjoys working as part of a team that includes his long standing (13 years in 2011!) dental assistant Jodi, hygienists at PDC and outside specialists where indicated.

Outside of dentistry Steve enjoys family life and performing with his band, the Creole Cowboyz, playing accordions, keyboard and singing. He is also an active member of the school community at St Peters College.



 

Dr Richard W Salter BDS(Adel) Cert. Clin. Dent.
Richard graduated from Adelaide University in 1981 and worked in Whyalla for a short period before buying a practice in Ceduna on the Far West Coast of Eyre Peninsula. Richard worked in Ceduna for 9 years providing a wide range of dentistry for the township and vast rural areas but returned to the city in 1986 after buying a practice at Seacliff. Richard joined as an associate dentist at Parkside Dental Clinic in 1993. He attended university with Dr Mark Gryst and Steve Oppes. Richard has spent several years as a clinical tutor at the Unviersity of Adelaide and within this time he has also donated his time in establishing dental clinics and promoting awareness of the dental health in East Timor.

Richard has 3 daughters who have all completed various university degree degrees.



 

Dr Ross D Napoli BDS(Adel)
After graduating from Adelaide University achieving the Australian Society of Endodontics prize in his final year, Ross practiced in several locations in South Australia and Victoria such as Mildura and Waikerie before returning to the Adelaide metropolitan area of Glenelg. Ross joined PDC in early 2003 as an assistant dentist and after the retirement of Dr Barrington Kidd in late 2003, Ross became one of the principal associates of the practice.

During Ross’s undergraduate studies he contributed some time to research into mouth wash efficacy and the development of 3 dimensional cranio-facial x-ray imaging programs in conjunction with renowned jaw joint specialist Dr Tom Wilkinson. His studies have consequently given him an affinity for preventive and cosmetic dentistry. Ross also recently established a dental program for the "Born to Live Charity" which provides dental services to HIV infected orphans in Thailand.

Ross has keen sporting interests. He is an avid soccer player and fan and has a passion for classic cars and motorsport.



 

Dr Phil Allen BDS(Adel)
Phil graduated from the University of Adelaide Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Dr Ross Napoli. He has worked in private practice in metropolitan Adelaide since graduation. In addition Phil has worked as a casual clinical tutor at University of Adelaide from 2002-2005. Phil attended secondary school at Prince Alfred College, Adelaide, and holds a degree in Economics and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment.

In addition, Phil is a keen Kitesurfer, and enjoys windsurfing, surfing and tennis. He is a life member of the Prince Alfred Old Collegians Football Club.
