Dr Steven Oppes BDS(Adel) GCD. FADI. FICD.
Graduating as Dux in 1980 from the University of Adelaide, Steve practiced in Adelaide and the UK before joining Parkside Dental Clinic in1987. In 1995, Steve completed a Graduate Certificate in Dentistry at the University of Adelaide. He was admitted as a fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International in 2003 and a fellow of the International College of Dentists in 2011. He is a keen participator in continuing professional development and in 2005 undertook a 6 month placement at the renowned Louisiana State University Dental School in New Orleans as a research assistant.
Steve is currently a member of the Notification and Registration Committee of the Dental Board of Australia (SA) and has been a member and office bearer in a number of dental societies. For some years he was the chairman of Postgraduate Committee in Dentistry at the Adelaide University, a leading provider of dental professional development in South Australia.
In his practice Steve has special interests in cosmetic dentistry, full mouth rehabilitation, tooth wear and CEREC porcelain restorations. He enjoys working as part of a team that includes his long standing (13 years in 2011!) dental assistant Jodi, hygienists at PDC and outside specialists where indicated.
Outside of dentistry Steve enjoys family life and performing with his band, the Creole Cowboyz, playing accordions, keyboard and singing. He is also an active member of the school community at St Peters College. |
